Zip-Wrap (VNH)
PROBLEM:Particle accelerator hoses, wires and cables were being damaged during installation and operation, creating delays in system validation testing and conducting research experiments. A means of protecting and organizing the large bundles while maintaining cable flexibility was necessary. The desired solution also required easy re-entry into the cable bundles for future system modifications and reconfigurations. SOLUTION:A wrap-around, zipper-closed cable jacket of tough, abrasion-resistant, Nylon-reinforced PVC in various sizes and lengths solved the organizational, abrasion and ease of access problems. |

CONCLUSION:
The Zippertubing solution solved the cable management and abrasion resistance problems and the zip-on, wrap-around design minimized system down time, resulting in reduced delays and keeping testing and experiments on schedule.
