Hook-It® (TPU) is ideal for applications that need durable cable bundling and quick and easy access to components. Hook-It® (TPU) combines thermoplastic polyurethane jacketing with a Velcro-style hook-and-loop closure made of Aramid and nylon. The TPU material is a halogen free, flame retardant extruded film that provides the best in protection from abrasion. This jacketing also contains no PVC compounds and has a high resistance to microorganisms, as well as resistance to ozone (VDE 0472). Because of these properties, and the white sheen of the material, the TPU film could be utilized for clean room and medical field environments*.

The hook-and-loop closure is perfect for applications needing the ability to re-enter wires or cables effortlessly. The high-temperature closure system allows for a no-tools-required installation; just wrap Hook-It® (TPU) around components, and fasten the hook-and-loop strips together. Hook-It® (TPU) can be cut to any desired length.

Hook-It® (TPU) diameter options range from 0.5” to 8”, with custom shapes and sizes available upon request. The operational temperature range is -40°F to 257°F (-40°C to 125°C).

*Hook-It® (TPU) is not specifically manufactured using a clean room in sterile conditions, but with the right procedures, it could be used in the medical field, including in hospitals, operating rooms, trauma centers, and emergency rooms.

Q:  What lengths of hook & loop jacketing are available?

A:  Our hook & loop closed sleeves can be ordered in lengths as short as a few inches to lengths of 100 feet or more.  When quoting or ordering, make sure to clearly state the length of each sleeve in inches, which is typically referenced at the end of the part number (-X120.0 for example).

Q:  What diameter of jacketing do I need?  Is it recommended to oversize?

A:  We will often suggest oversizing the sleeve diameter by 1/8” to allow for ease of installation.  If the application requires significant bending or flexing we will suggest even more extra room.  For assistance with sizing you can also contact one of our design engineers.

Q:  Can I cut the Jacketing?

A:  Yes*.  *We recommend ordering hook & loop closed
jacketing to the exact length required, but you absolutely can trim down a spool of Hook-It jacketing using standard scissors.   When cutting lengths of Hook-It jacketing, keep in mind the newly trimmed edges will not have the back-stitching found on
the factory edges and the stitching may come loose over time. For more details on cutting or size recommendations please contact one of our design
engineers.

Q:  What is the minimum bend radius of the tubing?

A:  There is no minimum bend radius for our Hook-It products.  The flexible jacketing material allows for extreme amounts of bending and flexing.  The bend radius of the installed tubing is typically dictated by the harness it is covering.

Q:  What is the difference between Hook & Loop and Velcro?

A:  “Hook & Loop” refers to the family of closures that utilize small loops of fiber and tiny hooks to interlock and hold material together. Velcro is the name of the company that originally created the hook-and-loop fastening system.  Here at ZT we use Velcro brand fasteners as well as fasteners from other brands.
