Z-Wrap® (PVL) is a wrap-around cable bundling and protection solution that is equipped with a high-strength acrylic adhesive. The PVL-10 jacketing is made of a polyester material that is coated with PVC on both sides. The jacketing is abrasion resistant, fire retardant, and meets MIL-C-43006G, Type II, Class 1 specifications. Additionally, the PVL jacketing is RoHS compliant and has good chemical and fluid resistance. The acrylic-based transfer adhesive has a high-strength bond, creates a secure seal, and is equipped with a paper release liner for clean application. The adhesive is also fire retardant and RoHS compliant.

The application of Z-Wrap® (PVL) can be performed quickly, saving time and resources without the hassle of disassembly. Z-Wrap® (PVL) requires no tools for installation; just wrap around the wire or cable bundle, remove the paper release liner from the adhesive strip, and seal securely. Z-Wrap® (PVL) can also be easily cut to any desired length with a pair of standard scissors.

Z-Wrap® (PVL) is available in a range of colors—perfect for applications that may require color coding of components, wires, or cables—and is offered in diameters ranging from 0.375” to 12”, with custom sizes and shapes available upon request. Z-Wrap® (PVL) has an operational temperature range of -40°F to 180°F (-40°C to 82°C).

Q:  What lengths of Z-Wrap jacketing are available?

A:  Typical spool lengths for most sizes are 100 feet, but will depend on total order footage.  Custom lengths can be provided, just make sure to ask when ordering or include details on the PO for the lengths required.

Q:  Can I cut the tubing?

A:  Yes.  Standard scissors are suitable for cutting
through most Z-Wrap sleeves.

Q:  What diameter of jacketing do I need?  Is it recommended to oversize?

A:  We will often suggest oversizing the sleeve diameter by 1/8” to allow for ease of installation.  If the application requires significant bending or flexing we will suggest even more extra room.  For assistance with sizing you can also contact one of our design engineers.

Q:  What is the minimum bend radius of the tubing?

A:  There is no minimum bend radius for our Z-Wrap products.  The flexible jacketing material allows for extreme amounts of bending and flexing.  The bend radius of the installed sleeving is typically dictated by the harness it is covering.

Q:  Do you have any tips for installation?

A:  For the best installation, make sure the sleeving and work area are clean and free of contaminants that could prevent the adhesive from sticking.  Only remove the release liner when you are ready to install the product and avoid touching the exposed adhesive strip.  Finally, once installed, it is best to apply firm press ure to the overlap area to ensure the PSA is well
bonded.

Q:  Can I remove and reinstall the sleeving?

A:  Z-Wrap, adhesively closed, products are not designed to be removed and re-used like many of our
other wrap-around solutions.  These products are intended to be installed once and to retain a strong, water-tight, bonded closure.
