PRT® (Clear) is a clear, wrap-around heat shrink ideal for repairs and adding secondary insulation to wires or cables. The polyolefin heat shrink has a 2:1 shrink ratio, and meets specification MIL-DTL-23053/5C, as well as being abrasion resistant and fungus resistant. Additionally, PRT® (Clear) is resistant to the harshest fluids, including jet fuel and Skydrol. The adhesive is a clear acrylic-based transfer adhesive with a high-bond strength. The adhesive is equipped with a paper release liner for quick and clean installation.
If your application calls for different lengths, PRT® (Clear) can be easily cut for versatility in uses. Because of the wrap-around construction, installing PRT® (Clear) can be done without needing to disconnect or re-wire components. Simply wrap PRT® (Clear) around the damaged area of the wire, or where additional insulation is desired, and heat evenly with a standard heat gun.
PRT® (Clear) is offered in 13 diameter ranges, for wires as small as 0.25” to as large as 1.87”, with custom sizes available upon request. The operational temperature range is -67°F to 275°F (-55°C to 135°C).
