  • A wrap-around, cut to length, adhesive closure solution that requires no additional tooling
  • Offers better abrasion strength as well as excellent fluid and chemical resistance properties
  • Z-Wrap® (DVH) is a flame retardant product that is certified to UL 224, VW-1 (upon request)

Z-Wrap® (DVH) uses the DVH jacketing and high-bond strength adhesive for a long-lasting cable bundling solution. The DVH jacketing is a polyester fabric coated with PVC on both sides. This durable jacketing is resistant to abrasion, tearing, puncturing, and fluids. The jacketing is available in two different thicknesses. The DVH-20 is 0.02” thick and engineered for a better resistance to abrasion as well as meeting Mil-C-43006, Type I, Class 1. The DVH-40 is thicker at 0.04” and offers the best resistance to abrasion. Both jacketings are ideal for low-flexing, rugged applications.

The acrylic adhesive is fire retardant and resistant to U.V. and the effects of plasticizer migration. The high-bond strength of the adhesive provides a secure, permanent closure. Installing Z-Wrap® (DVH) requires no additional tools; just peel off the paper release liner and seal the product around your components. Z-Wrap® (DVH) can also be cut with a standard pair of scissors for applications that may have varying lengths of wires and cables.

Z-Wrap® (DVH) is offered for diameters ranging from 0.375” to 8”, with custom shapes and sizes available upon request. The operational temperature range is -34°F to 185°F (-30°C to 85°C) for DVH-20, and -40°F to 180°F (-40°C to 200°C) for DVH-40.

Q:  What lengths of Z-Wrap jacketing are available?

A:  Typical spool lengths for most sizes are 100 feet, but will depend on total order footage.  Custom lengths can be provided, just make sure to ask when ordering or include details on the PO for the lengths required.

Q:  Can I cut the tubing?

A:  Yes.  Standard scissors are suitable for cutting
through most Z-Wrap sleeves.

Q:  What diameter of jacketing do I need?  Is it recommended to oversize?

A:  We will often suggest oversizing the sleeve diameter by 1/8” to allow for ease of installation.  If the application requires significant bending or flexing we will suggest even more extra room.  For assistance with sizing you can also contact one of our design engineers.

Q:  What is the minimum bend radius of the tubing?

A:  There is no minimum bend radius for our Z-Wrap products.  The flexible jacketing material allows for extreme amounts of bending and flexing.  The bend radius of the installed sleeving is typically dictated by the harness it is covering.

Q:  Do you have any tips for installation?

A:  For the best installation, make sure the sleeving and work area are clean and free of contaminants that could prevent the adhesive from sticking.  Only remove the release liner when you are ready to install the product and avoid touching the exposed adhesive strip.  Finally, once installed, it is best to apply firm press ure to the overlap area to ensure the PSA is well
bonded.

Q:  Can I remove and reinstall the sleeving?

A:  Z-Wrap, adhesively closed, products are not designed to be removed and re-used like many of our
other wrap-around solutions.  These products are intended to be installed once and to retain a strong, water-tight, bonded closure.
