  • This products materials offer the best in both flexibility and in abrasion resistance
  • Zip-On® (63) is available in many shapes of installation including round, flat or rectangular shaped
  • Perfect for all types of general purpose cable bundling applications

Zip-On® (63) is a wrap-around cable bundling and protection solution that is ideal for nearly any application. The 63 jacketing is military-grade and made of a polyvinylchloride (PVC) virgin, calendered film. This jacketing is best in flexibility, is abrasion resistant, corrosion resistant, fluid resistant, flame retardant and UV stabilized. Additionally, the PVC jacketing has a flap on the inside to secure the components and to allow for easier sealing. Zip-On® (63) can be easily cut to length with a pair of standard scissors.

The 63 jacketing is offered in two thicknesses: 10 mil (63-10) and 20 mil (63-20). Both options are UL-rated. 600 volts/mil for 63-10 and 700 volts/mil for 63-20 dielectric strength. If you require a lighter weight jacketing, 63-10 is the ideal choice, and if you require a heavier duty jacketing, 63-20 is the ideal choice.

Zip-On® (63) is typically equipped with our Z-Track or R-Track PVC pressure tracks.

The Z-Track is an arrowhead and channel closure that provides a secure seal and is the strongest pressure track closure Zippertubing® offers. The Z-Track pressure track can be installed with our plier tools. To see how easily you can install Z-Track, check out a live demo here.

The R-Track is similar to a zip-lock seal where you can easily press the track closed, and is ideal for lighter duty cable bundling. The R-Track can be closed manually with your thumb or with the SLR slider tool.

Zippertubing® can also manufacture Zip-On® (63) to any of our other PVC pressure tracks, such as EZ-Track™ or D-Track-LT.

Zip-On® (63) is offered in cable diameters ranging from 0.375” to 16.5” with custom diameters available upon request, and has an operational temperature range of -4°F to 221°F (-20°C to 105°C).

Zip-On® (63) is available with National Stock Numbers (NSN). This designation ensures that Zip-On® (63) meets the stringent standards required by military and government agencies, facilitating easy procurement and inventory management. The availability of Zip-On® (63) with NSNs underscores Zippertubing's commitment to quality and reliability in providing essential components for critical operations.

Q:  What is the difference between the track closure styles?

A:  Each interlocking track profile has unique benefits and trade-offs.  To learn about them you can review our Track Comparison.

Q:  How do I close the jacketing?

A:  Some tracks can be closed by hand, but we also offer closure tools to assist with installation.  For more information on closing the specific tracks you can view our helpful videos or installation guides:

Q:  Can I cut the tubing?

A:  Yes.  Standard scissors are suitable for cutting through most Zip-On jackets and tracks.

Q:  What lengths of material are available?

A:  Typical spool lengths for most sizes are 100 feet, but will depend on total order footage.  Custom lengths can be provided, just make sure to ask when ordering or include details on the PO for the lengths required.

Q:  Will the track keep out water and is it water-tight?

A:  Our different track closures are rated between IP54 and IP55. This means they are not water tight but will provide significant protection against moisture and fluid ingress.
Some users will apply tape or a sealant to the track, after closing, to provide additional protection.

Q:  What diameter of jacketing do I need?  Is it recommended to oversize?

A:  We will often suggest oversizing the sleeve diameter by 1/8” to allow for ease of install
when using a closure tool.  If the application requires significant bending or flexing we will suggest even more extra room.  For assistance with sizing you can also contact one of our design engineers.

Q:  What is the minimum bend radius of the tubing?

A:  There is no minimum bend radius for our Zip-On products. The flexible jacketing material allows for extreme amounts of bending and flexing.  The bend radius of the installed tubing is typically dictated by the harness it is covering.
