  • Zip-On® (RPU) offers high tear resistance and good flexibility
  • The perfect environmentally friendly, non-pvc solution available to industries that require it
  • These products are available in a wide variety of materials, colors, shapes and sizes

Zip-On® (RPU) is made of a knitted polyester with an ether-based polyurethane coating. The RPU-17 jacketing is flexible and lightweight at only 0.017” thick, yet extremely tough. The jacketing is tear resistant and flame retardant, making it the ideal choice for applications that are exposed to rugged conditions. The RPU-17 is PVC-free, and utilized in environments that prohibit PVC material.

Zip-On® (RPU) pairs with the white EZ-Track™ (TPU) pressure track. The EZ-Track™ (TPU) track is a halogen-free, arrowhead and channel closure that provides a secure seal. The EZ-Track™ (TPU) combined with the RPU jacketing creates the all-white cable bundling and protection solution desired for clean room applications and the medical industry*. The EZ-Track™ can be installed with the SL-EZ Slider tool or ZTEZ-SP Plier tool. There is also the option of the black Z-Track (PFR) pressure track for applications that need a stronger closure system. The Z-Track (PFR) pressure track can be installed with our ZTZ-SP Plier tool. The plier tools are great for long cable runs, while the slider tools are better for shorter cable runs.

Zip-On® (RPU) is engineered for diameters ranging from 0.375” to 7”, with custom sizes available upon request. The operational temperature range is from -40°F to 159°F (-40°C to 71°C).

*Zip-On® (RPU) is not specifically manufactured using a clean room in sterile conditions, but with the right procedures, it could be used in the medical field, including in hospitals, operating rooms, trauma centers, and emergency rooms.

Q:  What is the difference between the track closure styles?

A:  Each interlocking track profile has unique benefits and trade-offs.  To learn about them you can review our Track Comparison.

Q:  How do I close the jacketing?

A:  Some tracks can be closed by hand, but we also offer closure tools to assist with installation.  For more information on closing the specific tracks you can view our helpful videos or installation guides:

Q:  Can I cut the tubing?

A:  Yes.  Standard scissors are suitable for cutting through most Zip-On jackets and tracks.

Q:  What lengths of material are available?

A:  Typical spool lengths for most sizes are 100 feet, but will depend on total order footage.  Custom lengths can be provided, just make sure to ask when ordering or include details on the PO for the lengths required.

Q:  Will the track keep out water and is it water-tight?

A:  Our different track closures are rated between IP54 and IP55. This means they are not water tight but will provide significant protection against moisture and fluid ingress.
Some users will apply tape or a sealant to the track, after closing, to provide additional protection.

Q:  What diameter of jacketing do I need?  Is it recommended to oversize?

A:  We will often suggest oversizing the sleeve diameter by 1/8” to allow for ease of install
when using a closure tool.  If the application requires significant bending or flexing we will suggest even more extra room.  For assistance with sizing you can also contact one of our design engineers.

Q:  What is the minimum bend radius of the tubing?

A:  There is no minimum bend radius for our Zip-On products. The flexible jacketing material allows for extreme amounts of bending and flexing.  The bend radius of the installed tubing is typically dictated by the harness it is covering.
