Overview

Zip-Shield® (63) EMI Shielding w/Z-3250/EZ/20 - CHILD
  • Jacketing options for a wide range of application requirements
  • Pressure track closure system for a secure seal
  • EMI shielding cloth is lightweight and corrosion resistant

Zip-Shield® (63) is an EMI shielding solution consisting of a jacket with a sewn-in shielding cloth and a pressure track. A wide range of jacketing options are offered based on application requirements, whether you need a jacket that is military grade and flame retardant or one that is PVC free and provides exceptional abrasion resistance. The 3250 EMI shielding cloth offers protection from EMI, RFI, and EMF, so you can be confident that your components will not be compromised by these damaging interferences.

If you require an EMI shielding cloth that is non-magnetic, Zip-Shield® (7200) is also available. If you require shielding for lower frequencies, Zip-Shield® (SHX4) would be the ideal choice, and if you require shielding for higher frequencies, Zip-Shield® (SH1) would be the ideal choice.

Zip-Shield® (63) is typically paired with the R-Track or the Z-Track. Either pressure track system will be easy to seal and offer a long-lasting closure, and if re-entry is required, you can easily break out components. The Z-Track is a medium duty pressure track closure with an arrowhead and channel interlock system, and it is the most versatile pressure track option. The Z-Track can be sealed with our ZTZ-SP plier tool. The R-Track is a light duty pressure track closure and is similar to a zip-lock closure. The R-Track can be sealed manually with a thumb or with an SLR slider tool.

Zippertubing® can also manufacture Zip-Shield® (3250) with our other pressure track closures upon request.

Jacketing options for Zip-Shield® (63) include:

63-10: Flexible and lightweight PVC film that is military grade, abrasion resistant, and fluid resistant.

Zip-Shield® (63) is an EMI-shielding solution consisting of a PVC-extruded film jacket with a sewn-in shielding cloth, mesh or foil and a pressure track. Jacketing choices include either a lightweight (63-10) PVC film or medium-weight (63-20) PVC military-grade film. Both options offer best resistance to abrasion and are considered general purpose jacketing that can be heat sealed to most closure systems. The equipped 3250 EMI shielding cloth offers protection from EMI, RFI and EMF. Zip-Shield® (63) typically pairs with the R-Track, Z-Track, or the EZ-Track. Either pressure track system will be easy to seal and offer a long-lasting closure, or if re-entry is required, you can easily break out components. The R-Track is a light-duty pressure track closure and is similar to a zip-lock closure. The R-Track can be sealed manually with a thumb or with an SLR slider tool. The Z-Track is a versatile, medium-duty pressure track closure with an arrowhead-and-channel interlock system. The Z-Track can be sealed with our ZTZ-SP plier tool. Zippertubing® can also manufacture Zip-Shield® (63) with our other pressure track closures upon request. Jacketing options for Zip-Shield® (63) include: 63-10: Flexible and lightweight PVC film that is military grade, abrasion resistant, and fluid resistant. 63-20: Flexible and medium-weight PVC film that is military grade, abrasion resistant, and fluid resistant.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q:  What is the difference between the track closure styles?

A:  Each interlocking track profile has unique benefits and trade-offs.  To learn about them you can review our Track Comparison.

Q:  How do I close the jacketing?

A:  Some tracks can be closed by hand, but we also offer closure tools to assist with installation.  For more information on closing the specific tracks you can view our helpful videos or installation guides:

Q:  Can I cut the tubing?

A:  Yes.  Standard scissors are suitable for cutting through most Zip-On jackets and tracks.

Q:  What lengths of material are available?

A:  Typical spool lengths for most sizes are 100 feet, but will depend on total order footage.  Custom lengths can be provided, just make sure to ask when ordering or include details on the PO for the lengths required.

Q:  Will the track keep out water and is it water-tight?

A:  Our different track closures are rated between IP54 and IP55. This means they are not water tight but will provide significant protection against moisture and fluid ingress.
Some users will apply tape or a sealant to the track, after closing, to provide additional protection.

Q:  What diameter of jacketing do I need?  Is it recommended to oversize?

A:  We will often suggest oversizing the sleeve diameter by 1/8” to allow for ease of install
when using a closure tool.  If the application requires significant bending or flexing we will suggest even more extra room.  For assistance with sizing you can also contact one of our design engineers.

Q:  What is the minimum bend radius of the tubing?

A:  There is no minimum bend radius for our Zip-On products. The flexible jacketing material allows for extreme amounts of bending and flexing.  The bend radius of the installed tubing is typically dictated by the harness it is covering.
