  • Perfect for installations that may require re-entry
  • Ideal for cable bundles, wire harnesses, hoses, and other applications where flexibility, strength, and abrasion protection are required
  • Can be layered to protect valuable components from heat-related issues

Zip-Wrap® (KWF-24) is a lightweight, high-breakage strength, complete 360° thermal, and protection solution, for wires, cables, hoses or pipe management. Zip-Wrap® (Kevlar) can be customized to fit virtually any length and diameter, allowing for easy installation with a zipper closure system.

Zip-Wrap® (KWF-24) is comprised of a ballistic grade woven fabric Kevlar 24 style 745 outer jacketing material, resistant to most organic solvents, which provides strength, and abrasion protection reinforcement for wires or cables. The KWF-24 material is a lightweight, strong synthetic fiber that can be customized in an application using multiple layers to create the needed degree of protection. Sewn-in combination with a brass zipper closure system, using a high-temperature aramid Kevlar thread, resistant to bacteria and mildew, the total solution allows for the combined materials to create a durable 360° abrasion and thermal protection solution, that can be easily installed with no additional tools required.

Recommended Maximum Temperature Range for Long-Term Use in Air: 300° to 350°F

Q:  What lengths of zippered jacketing are available?

A:  Our zipper closed sleeves can be ordered in lengths as short as a few inches to lengths of 100 feet or more.  When quoting or ordering, make sure to clearly state the length of each sleeve in inches, which is typically referenced at the end of the part number (-X120.0 for example).

Q:  What diameter of jacketing do I need?  Is it recommended to oversize?

A:  We will often suggest oversizing the sleeve diameter by 1/8” to allow for ease of installation.  If the application requires significant bending or flexing we will suggest even more extra room.  For assistance with sizing you can also contact one of our design engineers.

Q:  Can I cut the Jacketing?

A:  Yes*.  *Although you can cut the jacketing, we recommend ordering zipper-closed jackets to the exact length required.  If you need to trim down your jacketing, make sure you do it from the end opposite the zipper pin/box end and reinstall top zipper stops at the point where you trimmed the jacketing.  For more details on cutting or size recommendations please contact one of our design engineers.

Q:  Will the zipper keep out water and is it water-tight?

A:  No.  Our standard zippers do a great job at keeping big debris and dirt out of the jacketing but are not water tight.  Our tooth and coil zippers are rated at IP4X, which means they will keep out most dirt and dust but water splashing can enter the jacket.  If you need more protection, you may consider a track closure or adhesive closure option.

Q:  What is the minimum bend radius of the tubing?

A:  There is no minimum bend radius for our Zip-Wrap products.  The flexible jacketing material allows for extreme amounts of bending and flexing.  The bend radius of the installed tubing is typically dictated by the harness it is covering.
